Its creative, open ended nature potentially allows players to shape and alter the environment and thus construct both cultural and social meaning to a greater degree than some other games. Also, in Minecraft realism is not really a big concern and so the symbolic or representational aspects are more overt. Does this mean the process of interpretation is more conscious for the player, which in turn helps create a more meaningful learning experience?
